We offer a diversity of trucks and trailers to ensure a successful career in any specialty you choose. No HAZMAT certificates available.

Hands On Experience

Gain valuable knowledge from experienced instructors. We only offer trucks in manual transmission (18, 15, 13, and Super-10). We have specialty trailers ranging from tow trucks, cattle pots, removeable goose necks, belt trailers and auto transport.

Third Party Tester

Kansas certified third party CDL examiners. Our students will prepare and test for the written and driving portions of the exam - all on site!

Central Plains CDL cares about your future. We are located in Abliene, KS, just North of Highway 18. We offer the best in commercial truck driver training for those looking to open up new opportunities in the transportation industry and begin a profitable career.

Central Plains CDL students will only use manual tractors - 18-speed, 15-speed and Super-10. We offer a wide variety of trailers to help you gain the most experience during your time training with us.

Curriculum

6-Week Course

The six week training program will prepare you to qualify for your Class A CDL. Central Plains CDL will be there every step of the way, from the classroom to performing inspections, and most importantly, valuable road experience.

Students will prepare for their Learners Permit in the classroom with guided instruction. Then they will perform Range Training, where they will learn about pre-trip inspections and actually getting behind the wheel. Advanced Range Maneuvers, such as parallel parking and alley docking, will be taught and students will have ample time to hone their skills. Finally, you will learn to operate large Class A-rated commercial vehicles under close supervision of our qualified instructors.
